WHS events and what's on

Throughout the year we will be promoting various events and activities in and around our campuses to promote wellbeing, and a healthy and safe workplace. If you have an event or activity that you wish to include on our WHS events and what's on page, please contact us via whs-admin@uow.edu.au

During Men’s Health Week, we invite everyone to join us for a special panel discussion. We’ll examine the difference between toughness and resilience, discuss why common coping strategies fail and explore a range of practical strategies that enhance male mental health.

Gender can present unique health issues throughout one’s lifetime. In this session, we will explore the most pressing health concerns for men in Australia, including life expectancy and modifiable risk factors, cardiovascular disease, smoking, and the "big three" health issues: hypertension, cholesterol, and diabetes. We will also discuss common cancers affecting men. This webinar will be recorded. A link to the recording will be emailed to all webinar registrants within two days following the event.
